Wemtech: CE Marking and Certification Specialists
We know that developing a product can seem like a daunting series of processes. Testing and conforming to standards is often overlooked, or done as an after thought. Thinking about testing and conformity early can help reduce project timescales and costs by avoiding unnecessary changes.
Wemtech offer help, and in some cases, part funded training courses to help with CE marking, EMC testing, and other certification and testing processes. We and our clients have used Wemtech on a number of occassions; We have found their advice invaluable when developing and testing new products. Below are a few examples of when Wemtech, or another certification specialist have been involved in a project, and how they helped.
Polylogic Dataplate
PolyLogic (Click here to link to their website) had developed an electronic monitoring device for use in laboratories to help improve quality control on the storage of samples. Although PolyLogic are experienced software and electronics engineers this was the first full product they developed. We suggested Wemtech, and they where able to offer a 50% funded 1 day CE marking training course, during which, PolyLogic were supported in writing the CE document.
Although CE Marking is a self certification process it can be complex, and having an independent organisation evaluate the product and supporting literature ensures that any issues can be checked and corrected before production. An organisation like Wemtech will also indicate where other standards need to be met and if a higher level of certification is required.
NHS FNoF Splint
The FNoF Splint designed and developed by us in collaboration with the NHS National innovation Centre will be going to trial at the end of the month. To make sure we demonstrated due diligence We asked Wemtech to advise on both the device itself, and the documentation that should accompany it. Although we produced all the information, having an experienced (and independent) opinion on its conformity, and signed approval is a priceless piece of mind. Useful tips and advice led to minor changes to the device itself and a thorough technical document package.
Blood Donation Chair
We were commissioned to design and manufacture a prototype Blood donation chair to improve storage and donor comfort. Before production our client performed a full review of the prototype, as if it was a product in production, and producing a full report on all detail that needed revision including, labeling, documentation and conformity to standards. The document formed a useful reference and checklist to complete before production.
